This week's cards

In Monday's class we were playing about with the Jacob's Coat' technique (inked backgrounds and clear resist stamping) Here are a few of the results.

Computers!

Back in cyberland again and enjoying playing with my new laptop. Most things are working well (apart from Skype) but I do seem to have lost loads of old important emails stored in various files and all my contacts. Thankfully ones I need have been printed off and I did a spreadsheet of all my friends email addresses before we went to Oz so not too much damage done.

The 'For Sale' sign is up and we have our first viewing tomorrow! Scary.....

What a week!

I am computerless at the moment (having sneeked on here at work to update you with the latest news). Mine has gone in for a clean, update and to tranfer data to a new external hard drive and laptop before getting packed up ready for shipping.

After a nail-biting few days we heard on Monday that our medical results are now on their way to Sydney for processing. Just the money to hand over and we're nearly there. Clive couldn't have asked for a better birthday present than that! We should have our Visas by August all being well.

Our chosen estate agent came round yesterday to take pictures and start the selling process. I spent a few hours yesterday depersonalising the rooms and putting all the unwanted clutter in boxes in the garage before adding fresh flowers and some newly planted tubs and hanging baskets to pretty it up. Can't believe how tidy and neat it all looks - hope we can keep it like that between viewings. The house goes on the market next week ..... fingers crossed the rest of this exciting 'journey' goes smoothly and quickly.

Nearly there!

Had a successful craft sale on Saturday and shifted a lot of stuff I no longer need. Have been whizzing round the house this morning since the crack of dawn tidying up and putting boxes in the garage ready for the estate agents valuation - haven't seen it look this tidy for ages.

The medicals seemed to go well on Friday so we're another step closer to our dream. If only we can sell the house quickly in the summer months we shall be away to begin our new life 'Down Under' well before Christmas and so have 2 summers and not another winter till next June!

Another month gone

April is nearly over and where did it all go? So many Bank Holidays and the Royal Wedding meant less 'working' days and we are still busy getting rid of stuff. The loft, garage, shed and cupboard under the stairs are all empty now and once the medicals are completed next Friday I shall breath a sigh of relief.....nearly there.

Planted up the hanging baskets this morning so having a nice relaxing afternoon now. Popped out to enjoy the sunshine at a National Trust property while my card is still valid - Polesden Lacey, Ranmore Common, Denbies Vineyard and Box Hill. Rescued a couple of lambs that had escaped with the help of some other drivers.

Birthday Week

Most of my birthday cards and a lovely fruit basket from Karen (Iain spoilt me with some YSL Paris perfume)

The garden looks neat and tidy now - just the hedge to trim and the hanging baskets to plant up.

Our Iain on Sunday

Its been quite a week - Easter, family meals, Bank Holiday, bluebell walks, shopping spree, boiler service, surprise presents and the Royal Wedding tomorrow. My birthday week is usually so quiet too.

Will try to find a few minutes to plant up the hanging baskets and paint the garage door - maybe on Saturday while Clive is in Margate watching the football!

Next week is just as busy with 2 house valuations, 2 foreign removal estimates, Visa medicals, theatre trip on Friday night, huge craft sale in Horley on Saturday and yet another Bank Holiday.
