Had a relaxing few days in the Riverlands - staying at Lake Bonney, Barmera and visiting Loxton, Berri and Renmark

Beautiful Barossa

Had a great day out with the bowls club in Barossa.  The Autumn colours were stunning and with 4 lots of wine-tasting, a good day was had by all

Fiesta Fresh

Started a lovely new quilt designed by Rachelle Denneny "FIESTA FRESH"
Here's what it should look like once finished (I've chosen teal frames and a different border)

 Cut a Layer Cake into strips of varying widths - mix up and join into 4 long strips (10"wide)

 

 Cut into 9" x 10" blocks and cut these in half diagonally

 press open and sew random pieces together

 press open and trim

 add 1 1/4" border

 add white 1 1/2" border to long edges (this should make an 11" square)

Lay pieces alternately - vertical and horizonal and join together as shown on the pattern

Chocovino

Karen and I had a great day out in Hahndorf to celebrate our birthdays.  Clive was our chauffeur so we enjoyed plenty of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc! Chocolate and wine-tasting at my favourite winery followed by a delicious gourmet platter lunch.
