Quilt of the month +++++

September and October quilts going well
 Twinkle - September quilt.  Going to add a border before I get it quilted
 October quilt - blocks done and just the sashing and posts next - they're all cut our ready to go

Got my '3 Dudes' quilt back from Widebacks and it has been backed with apple brushed cotton and quilted.  Machined the binding on then hand-finished it.  It should be on its way to India by the end if the week

Dzintari

Spend a fabulous long weekend away at church camp near Normanville.  There were 135 of us (50 were Iranian 'boat people')  We had a very special time together and it was wonderful learning about Persian culture.  I'd love to share pictures but many of the people face extreme persecution still and their families back in Iran could be in danger.

Had fun making and flying kites and doing Iranian dancing and having faces made up during the free time. Jenga was popular too.

Spring

I love South Australia in the Spring - the grass is still lush and green, the wattles and bottlebrushes are in full flower and the gardens are looking so colourful with osteospernums, gazanias. pigface, lavender, bulbs, geraniums and the first roses.

Tall Ships

Had an exciting morning at the Port viewing the tall ships - three from Holland, 2 from SA and The Lord Nelson Jubilee Trust ship from Southampton.  Had an interesting guided tour around thanks to the Chief Engineer who knows 2 of our friends from BERIA.  Temperatures were in the mid 20s with lots of warm sunshine so a cold ginger beer at the Brewery went down well.

Plenty of boats, dolphins and dragon boats with didgeridoo music, morris dancing and lots of fun activities for all the family.
