Nice to be up and about again

Been driving for a couple of day (get the all-clear from the surgeon later today) and feeling great.  Autumn is such a beautiful time and 5 days rain is welcome in our parched garden.  Managed to get all the washing done first luckily.  Had a trip to the city and walked round the gardens on South Terrace as the sun was going down.

Also had lunch and a walk round the Burnside shopping centre at the end of last week - nice to be out and about again

Glad to be home

Had my gall-bladder out last Thursday (laproscopic) and was home again in less than 24 hours.  Making a good recovery and, apart from not being able to shower and wearing ghastly white compression stockings, I don't look or feel too bad.

Had loads of visitors and messages of goodwill and several lovely home-cooked meals.  Its quite a novelty sitting with my feet up watching TV most of the day or snoozing.

Eating normally without any ill effects and have even lost a couple of kilos - hope it continues.  Now planning several holidays and short breaks for the coming year.

Adelaide Hills

Beautiful sunny day (but a chilly 14 - 16) in the Adelaide Hills.  Coffee stop in Stirling, walk round Bridgewater and stocked up on fruit and veg in Hahndorf.  Nice to see local strawberries at 2 large boxes for $5 and 3 avos for $5 too. Met these lovely creatures on River Road on the way home

Fifty-one fine feathers finished!

Really getting the hang of FMQ feathers now (thanks Rachelle)  I drew the first few but was confidentially whizzing through later ones free hand and no outlines.  This is just a cot quilt so the ideal size to practice on.

Also had fun at a class with Lessa Siegele learning all about flying geese.  Clipped the wings of a couple (but you can only see that with a magnifying glass) and all their tail feather are intact!

A day with the girls

After a disastrous day on my own with no car yesterday, I've been out and about with the girls as they had a day off school.  Clive was at bowls all day (and cricket yesterday) so I'm a bit tired after, park, shopping, lunch out, walk in the conservation park and time on the beach!

March came in with a bang

Decided to get on with my UFOs.  Managed 3 quilts so far this year - 2 were going to India but are no longer required so the beds here are all clothed now (and a few to spare)

Spent the weekend finishing off and starting some new smaller projects

Back to the quilts

With temperature in the 40s for many days, sewing took a back seat for a while.  But ....... I've more than made up for it in the last couple of weeks.  Three quilt tops done and 1 left to finish binding.

Then there was 'Twinkle' a king sized quilt heading to Sherpa Tar in India soon

and now I'm working on 'Tapestry D9P' (also destined for Northern India)
