I'm back

Had my three and a half hour op just a week ago and am now home making slow and steady progress. They sent me home after three days rather than the expected 4-5. Can't sit for long so no crafting for a bit longer - maybe by the end of next week.

Stitches come out on Friday and I should be able to drive in 6-8 weeks. Had a couple of minor setbacks when various bodily functions didn't function but I'm OK now and feeling surprisingly well. I'm having lots of rest and now sleeping better at night which makes a huge difference. Getting up 2 or 3 times a night was not good especially as it took ages to get back to sleep each time.

Appetite is small so perhaps I'll lose most of that excess weight I gained on and since the cruise in May. Luckily people have brought me grapes and healthy soups rather than chocolates.

More Paper Roses

I'm hooked on making paper roses after seeing them in an old Magnolia magazine.
Great picture tutorial on Kaisercraft's site too.

Down Memory Lane

Been clearing up in the loft again and came across loads of old photo albums.
Here are a couple of the children taken nearly 30 years ago

Not a good week so far

Sunday - the microwave blew up
Monday - the washing machine packed up
Tuesday - broke a tooth
Wednesday - the boot of my car won't stay up
Thursday - broke 2 of my best Denby dinner service plates and they're no longer available at John Lewis!

Made a lovely card for my son-in-law a couple of weeks ago and I'm blowed if I can find it now. I've turned the craft room upside down looking for it. Off to make another one so I bet it turns up later. At least I found my missing ATCs for a swap - they were still in the scanner!

Tomorrow it's FRIDAY 13th........................... don't think I'll get out of bed

Hope things improve next week - I'm due to go into hospital for major surgery!

Made a few cards

Made 3 cards yesterday and another at Craft-U-Love's 'Make & Take' this morning
The blue and green butterflies were a M&T I made 2 weeks ago and I liked it so much I made a similar one in black and white. It's only 4" square and very quick to make. Punch the butterflies out of toning papers, ink the edges, pop them on your card and add a bit of glitter to make them sparkle.

The girls

My granddaughters love having their faces painted. Butterflies are always a popular choice

Sunny Somerset

Had a great week in Shepton Mallett and the weather was kind (apart from a rather cold breeze most afternoons) Spent Tuesday in Bath on a 'Safari'.
The Abbey
The Guildhall

Bath has 100 life-sized sculptures all decorated and sponsored scattered around the city. Managed to photograph 27 of them.

You can find out more about them on www.lionsofbath.com
