Another sleepless night

Working my way through a box of paper scraps and coordinating them.  Then I colour the Tildas to match.

Once the backgrounds are planned, I add some embellishments and then paint the Tildas in matching colours.  So much easier than painting them first and then trying to match the background papers.

So, how many Tildas can I make in a week?  Lost count.  Another 4 waiting to be finished off tomorrow!

Insomnia!

Had a dreadful night on Tuesday and was awake till after 3.00am.  Still, I managed to make a couple of cards.  Very patriotic colours but the 'Dig for Victory' one looks a bit bright in the cold light of day.

Wednesday - out for the count at 10.15! (so made these 2 earlier in the day)
Have stamped loads more Tildas ready to colour and have sorted out my scraps of paper so there should be a few more by the end of the month.

Roller coaster rides aren't always fun!

Made this at at class on Saturday - lots of distress inks and resist craft paper and pleated tissue tape. We also put a stamped image behind a crystal effect 'facet' and added a hanging pearl on a jump ring.  For a final touch we added stickers and buttons - very different and very 'Tim Holtz'!
After a rather hectic and nerve-wracking few days it seems our house sale may be back on track.  Phew!  Our buyers had been let down and had to put their house back on the market but luckily they found a buyer quickly (+1 more in the chain).  Hopefully the survey will be done on ours this week and things will move forward again.

The good news continued when I received a phone call from Crafts-U-Love to say I had won the prize raffle at the 5th Birthday demo day I collect my prize (a gift voucher?) on Friday.

Then I had another result on Gumtree and managed to get rid of the old kingsize drawer divan, a bedside table and the dressing-table.  The dining suite and hall wardrobe go to a good home next Monday too!

Not a happy bunny

Had an enjoyable few hours in Charelwood which helped cheer me up a little but feeling crap today and really down in the dumps. 

Having a sh***y day as, a month after accepting an offer on the house, we are no further forward and the buyers are yet to organise a survey!  We have contracts ready to sign and the transfer deeds are done too but they could pull out as their buyers have done nothing!!!!  grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I'm dreading having to put it on the market and starting again especially as a lot of the furniture has gone and there are boxes and piles of stuff everywhere - not a good look.

Quietish week

No classes now so not much activity in the Craft Room! Here are just a few for upcoming birthdays and an anniversary one for later in the year.

 Been busy selling items on Gumtree and have managed to find homes for the sideboard, table and chairs, Ercol dining stuff, nest of tables and a small wardrobe ............ Someone may be coming for the spare bed next week and I'll throw in the bedside table and chest of drawers if they want them.  The rest of the bedroom furniture has gone to a good home.  We even have buyers lined up for both our cars for September.
Wish the buyers would organise their survey so we could see some progress - we've done everything we can, including signing the contracts and transfer deeds and its a nail-biting time waiting!

Daisy Delights

Made another pretty, quick and easy card today at Charlewood. I do so love eisel cards and the Martha Stewart picket fence punch is a nice touch.  The stamps set is a bargain £5.99 from Marion Emberson Designs as there are 6 flower stamps in all, the above greeting and also a useful Happy Birthday stamp.  The corners were punched with a Fiskars 4 in one corner punch.

Looking forward to their demo day tomorrow week.

Last class

Cute elephant and balloons were done using Kaisercraft clear stamps and the Cuttlebug embossing folder gives a nice textured background.  Similar to the card we made last week at Crafts-U-Love - thank's for the idea girls!

This background uses toning 2" strips of paper which has been torn, distressed and rolled - quick and easy to do and you can have so many different looks depending on your papers, embellishments and sentiments.  The words are from a HeroArts sentiments collection

Don't you just love these 'Wrinklies' stamps from Dimensionfourth?  They certainly make me chuckle! I have a 'Beach' set too and look forward to trying them out soon.

Says it all really! Those Basic Grey papers on the card below are ideal for men and boys cards and the name of the collection is inspired - Aged and Confused! My other favourite words are 'My back goes out more often than I do' and 'Don't let things get you down, its hard to get up again'  or how about 'No more tension, where's my pension'?

Had my last class at Carshalton yesterday.  Bit quiet as only 5 could make it.  So certainly left with not so much a bang, but a whimper!  Sad and less than memorable end to an interesting 8 years of doing weekly classes there.  Made some good friends over the years and I'll post the odd Make-and-Take so they don't suffer from withdrawal symptoms.
